Amazing!
"We just came back from Stranger Things: The First Shadow and honestly, they’ve done something pretty special here. As a family of four, we weren’t entirely sure how they’d manage to bring the Upside Down to the stage, but they’ve pulled it off brilliantly.
The story was really well done - kept all of us engaged throughout, which is no mean feat when you’re trying to entertain both an 8-year-old and a 15-year-old alongside two adults. The writers clearly knew how to adapt the material for theatre while keeping that Stranger Things feel very much alive.
What really impressed us was the production itself. We’ve seen a few West End and Broadway shows over the years, but this was unlike anything we’d experienced before. The staging and technology they’ve used - we’re still trying to work out how they managed to do it. The special effects were unreal! It’s like they’ve completely reimagined what’s possible on stage. Our 8 & 15 year olds were captivated throughout, and so were we.
The cast were brilliant. The lead characters were amazing - especially the actor playing Henry Creel - it was intense, funny, scary, with plenty of ‘jump’ moments. Live theatre - you can’t beat it!
If you’re considering seeing this, we’d definitely recommend it. Whether you’re a Stranger Things fan or not, it’s the kind of theatrical experience that reminds you why live theatre can be so powerful. All four of us would give it a solid 10/10. Great and memorable night out. "

"I went in not knowing what to expect. Being a day one STRANGER THINGS stan i couldn't imagine how a broadway production would be. I have been to my share of broadway shows but i have never in my life seen a production like this. The storyline, the acting, the visual effects is out of this world. Awards need to be handed out not only to the performers but to the writers, stage hands, lighting crew and the sound techs. I strongly would recommend anyone not even fans of the show to come experience this. FYI The actor who plays Joyce in the Broadway production sounds exactly like Winona Rider who plays Joyce in the Netflix show. "

"For fans of the Stranger Things Netflix series this is a must see. Even if you've never seen it before it is still essential viewing.
Not only is there some singing, dancing, jokes and romance, the show is based around the origins of the supernatural happenings in 1960s USA town of Hawkins.
The unique feature of this show, however, are the jaw dropping special effects. I was amazed at how they managed to achieve them in live theatre, and how seamlessly the actors interacted with them.
