"Amazing singing and the animals at the start and end of the show are breathtaking. However, for the high price we paid for tickets, the set was lazy and underwhelming; hanging cloths, looked like paper grass and a cardboard tree. Reminded me of a high school show. Not Broadway calibre. But the cast was great and the opening and closing were amazing. "

Hard to understand
"Beautiful choreography and costumes. It was hard to understand the song lyrics and speaking by most of the cast. Heavy accents and overplaying of the African heritage made it practically impossible to understand most of the speaking parts"

Lion king
"The show was great. Really enjoyed, actors did an amazing job performing. But the venue wasn’t. Seats very uncomfortable and so close together. Sitting for two hours were a torture which doesn’t do any justice for the show."

Perfect with kids
"Loved the African beats and choir, some beautiful moments… Maybe a little more catered towards children with Jokes that are very Disney like. "

Loud and louder
"Of course, the puppets, staging, and costuming were fantastic. But the sound was so loud my granddaughter and I both had headaches. I had to plug my ears. Therefore, the tender moments were still overbearing. Too much money for the experience. "

A tad disappointed
"I loved the singing, The dance routine was the same movements over and over and the dancer could be tighter for the number of times performing the routine The show got a bit boring midway so it didn’t capture my attention throughout The costumes needed to be more vibrant with gold showcasing the richness of the continent Too many of songs were in another language so it was difficult to really immerse yourself in the show Needed more drums in the songs, an African drum has the ability to connect to the soul when done correctly "

Was ok
"It was ok, after seeing the show, I would’ve preferred to spend my time and money on another show. Definitely didn’t meet my expectation "

Lip... Sync...
"Beautiful production, great music overall, but I was disappointed that parts of it were lip synced. We all pay lots of money to get to and stay in NYC, time off from work/life etc for a Broadway show, for the Broadway experience... A lip synced show is unexpected, and again, disappointing. The silver lining for me personally is that I'll do my research next time, and be more circumspect about my next Broadway show. It's an expensive lesson, but a valuable one. "

Not worth the money
"Nothing extraordinary, limited number of special effect, missing new technology, stupid costumes. Really expected something better. People were leaving before end."

Overrated
"We were so excited and looking forward to seeing the show, but the singing was off, there were weird noises coming from the sound system that ruined part of the performance, and overall it felt like, at best, a high school production. "

About The Lion King

A lively stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning 1994 Disney film, The Lion King is the story of a young lion prince living in the flourishing African Pride Lands.

When an unthinkable tragedy, orchestrated by Simba’s wicked uncle, Scar, takes his father’s life, Simba flees the Pride Lands, leaving his loss and the life he knew behind. Eventually companioned by two hilarious and unlikely friends, Simba starts anew. But when weight of responsibility and a desperate plea from the now ravaged Pride Lands come to find the adult prince, Simba must take on a formidable enemy, and fulfill his destiny to be king.
