"I love all kinds of theatre. There are lots of ways to entertain and move an audience, and The Lost Boys did it for me! It was so cool! But behind the expert design, staging, performances, and more, there was an emotional core that made me cry. Yes, this teen vampire musical made me openly weep! This is bold stage-craft firing on all cylinders."

First Time on Broadway, Completely Blown Away
"It was my first time seeing a show on Broadway. You hear so much about musicals here, but this was just amazing. Although the story is fun and interesting, I was in tears by the end of the show from how emotional I felt getting to experience this amazing musical. Did I already mention it was amazing? "

The Lost Boys by a forever fan
"I loved that it paid perfect homage to the movie but had its own take on characters and funny lines to reference the movie. The talent of the stars cannot be exaggerated. I love shoshana bean and she was perfect in this role. All if the male cast were exciting and so talented with singing and dancing. The stage/set was outstanding. I actually had that purse Lucy wore in the opening scene. It was bit distracting and delightful. Took me back. Loved all the flying. The killings were just the right amount of what should be seen I think. I’ve been a Broadway fan since the 1980s. This was as good as any production I’ve loved. I highly recommend!! The Tonys were well-deserved!"

Amazing....almost perfect!
"The special effects were better than the original movie! The score and the talent delivering the score were amazing. I would have given it 5 stars if they would have left the politics out of it. Random cheap shots at former world leaders and other agendas that had nothing to do with the story took away from my experience. I tried not to let this distract me from an otherwise amazing show. Mad props to the performers, front of house and backstage crew. Bravo!"

The best kind of throwback
"My sisters and I were so pleasantly surprised by how well this show holds up against the movie of our childhood. “Death by stereo.” Yes!!!! So fun, just enough creepiness, amazing vocals. Late 80s nostalgia without being cheesy. Incredibly well done! "

Breaking The Curse Of Broadways Vampire Shows The Lost Boys Takes The Night
"I remember the 80's movie and wondered how could you make this a musical-and now I know. It has some minor changes(nothing that effects the storyline); What it does have is heart. That's an odd thing to say about a vampire story, but its that heart...that family bond that plays throughout the story that holds the entire piece together while at times seeming to tear it apart at the same time.
If you have never seen the movie-that's ok you don't need to to enjoy the play ( you missed a great movie though); and if you did see and remember the movie-don't worry this show won't change the characters from what you remember them as...mostly.
I will say this right up front I would not bring any child under 10 to this show just because of the subject matter and there are some special effects that are very well done: That said you know your kids best so you make that call. The Cast is amazing- Ali Louis Bourzgui as David winning the Tony was deserved as was Shoshana Bean as Lucy Emerson. In addition to the vocals the acting and the story there is yet another highlight to this show-the sets. I was absolutely stunned by the way they were able to change the sets; use multiple levels and even use drop doors to create space. My seats were in the balcony so I had a birds eye (literally) view of the stage and could see the kitchen center piece rise up and lower down as it appeared and vanished it only added to the incredible creation being made in front of me. I would say to anyone who enjoys theatre to go see this show...even if your not into musicals...or don't like vampires...or aren't real big on movie to stage kind of shows...this is all of those true but it's also one thing more...it's a Tony winning show that up until now whenever a vampire show went to Broadway it flopped. The Lost Boys did what no other vampire play has done...it not only didn't flop it won awards....maybe we can "Party All Night"."

A story you can sink your teeth into!
"This show honors the original movie and made me relive my youth in the best possible way. Then it goes a step further and adds more characterization through song. Some of the songs even felt like the 80’s again and they all added so much emotion to the story. Finally, the sets and visual effects are stunning and pull the show together in a way that can’t be described with words. As an avid fan of theatre, this show has rocketed to the top of my favorites list!"

Captivating
"I loved the theatrics, staging and how everything simply moved smoothly all due to technology and computerized movement of the stage. I cannot imagine being suspended upside down for the period of time these actors had to do such a thing. It kept getting better and better and I did not want it to end. Would definitely see it again!

Wow Just Wow
"What a amazing show, high flying and captivating the audience, Act 1 had me reeled in from start to finish, the songs were amazing with such talented voices, the costumes and set design were incredible and excellent execution of stage, now the second act was still great but did seem to dim a little from the first, the ending felt to quick but all in all one hell of a show"

Delivers everything you're hoping for
"What a fun ride this show is! We saw it on the last day of previews before the official opening. I'd heard it dragged, but they really tightened it up and I thought overall the pacing held my interest. There is not a weak performance in the bunch. The vocals are stellar across the board. Ali Bourzgui brings depth to David's character, you can't take your eyes off him when he is on stage. Shoshana Bean's Wild at the top of Act II is a showstopper, and you can feel LJ Benet's excitement in his Broadway debut. The set design alone is enough reason to go see the show. It does a great job capturing the feel of the original movie, and the classic motorcycle scene is well adapted for the stage. It brings the '80s feel to the stage better than Stranger Things. Is it campy in a few places, absolutely. Does it add to the fun of the show overall? I'd say yes, it adds a lightness to a show that has some very dark and intense moments. I'd agree with the general opinion that it's greatest weakness is the final fight scene. After all the build-up of the show, it is over in seconds and feels a little anti-climactic. This is a show you want to see on Broadway. I don't know how well it will travel with all the sets and effects, and it is going to be hard to match the quality of the original cast. "

About
The Lost Boys, A New Musical
Get ready for the ride of your life with The Lost Boys, the most Tony Award®-winning new musical of the year. It’s a “thrilling, blockbuster event” (People), “a breathtaking adventure unlike any musical seen before” (New York Post), and “the best new musical of the season” (The Washington Post).
When Michael moves to California with his younger brother Sam and their mother Lucy, he’s desperate to leave his old life behind and start fresh. A wild night out on the boardwalk finds him in the shadows of Santa Carla and brings him face-to-face with David, the magnetic leader of a local rock band. David and his bandmates offer Michael freedom, adventure, and the connection he’s been longing to find. But when the band’s dark secret finally comes out, Michael must decide how far he’s willing to go to belong.
Based on the classic Warner Bros. film, The Lost Boys is “a jaw-dropping, rock-fueled must-see” (Cosmopolitan) featuring Tony-winning performances from Shoshana Bean and Ali Louis Bourzgui. Directed by three-time Tony winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending, Parade), the production features Tony-nominated music and lyrics by The Rescues, a book by Tony nominees David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, choreography by Tony nominees Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant (Parade), and music supervision by Tony nominee Ethan Popp (Tina). The Lost Boys is produced by James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson.
