More about the sets than the actual art of singing
"I want to preface this by saying that I always have the utmost appreciation for all the performers, who devote their lives to honing their craft. Unfortunately, the real star of this production is the set design, not the performers. The music lacked originality and I could not remember a single song by the time the show ended. This wasn't the singers' fault, they made the best out of the mediocre material. The set design was intricate, to say the least. If you go to musicals to be impressed by the continuously changing sets, this is the musical for you. If you go to musicals to hear original music and layered performances by the actors, this is not the production for you. Regarding the actors appearing to fly through the air: if I hadn't been familiar with Elizabeth Streb's work over the past 3-4 decades, I would have considered it novel. I personally found this production utterly forgettable and disappointing from an artistic viewpoint. But if you have young kids and lots of money, I could see it as a fun show. "

All God’s Chill’in Are Different
"I like the fact that 99% of the audience people loved this show. It reminded me of my grandmother’s saying “all God’s chill’in are different.” The show is filled with talent, but the story is not one that interests me. Vampires, big hair music, bright lights, and loud sounds are not for me. In complete candor, I left during intermission. The best part of the show was the guy sitting next to me told me the story of the lead actor getting his break on Broadway. The story is too long to tell, but I highly recommend you investigate. About The Lost Boys, A New Musical

When Michael moves to California with his younger brother Sam and their mother Lucy, he’s desperate to leave his old life behind and start fresh. A wild night out on the boardwalk finds him in the shadows of Santa Carla and brings him face-to-face with David, the magnetic leader of a local rock band. David and his bandmates offer Michael freedom, adventure, and the connection he’s been longing to find. But when the band’s dark secret finally comes out, Michael must decide how far he’s willing to go to belong.

Based on the classic Warner Bros. film, The Lost Boys is “a jaw-dropping, rock-fueled must-see” (Cosmopolitan) featuring Tony-winning performances from Shoshana Bean and Ali Louis Bourzgui. Directed by three-time Tony winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending, Parade), the production features Tony-nominated music and lyrics by The Rescues, a book by Tony nominees David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, choreography by Tony nominees Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant (Parade), and music supervision by Tony nominee Ethan Popp (Tina).
