"I have been in love with the book, The Outsiders, since the 7th grade! To watch it come alive on the stage was incredible! Even though there were a few liberties with the plot line, it captured my love for each of the characters! Ponyboy was a true star and the songs/dances were well worth the ticket price! We sat in the front row balcony and our seats offered a perfect view of the stage! There was a scene with some language and if you have young children, you might be surprised! If I lived in NYC, I would definitely return to see The Outsiders again! "

The plot is classic. The staging is phenomenal.
"The plot of this musical is classic. You’re not going to be surprised by the storyline. What you are going to be surprised and delighted by is the staging. The special effects, the clever use of space and materials and the weather event put this show over the top. The acting was spot on, and the emotions were bare. The one minor complaint was the sound mix for Ponyboy. Sometimes it was too soft to catch the dialogue/lyrics. But that minor issue aside it was a fantastic musical."

Breathtakingly powerful (but with strong language.)
"The show was breathtakingly powerful and beautiful. My daughters and I absolutely loved it. The performances were fantastic and the imaginative direction was so engrossing. The story is a great one and the play does a wonderful job of following the book for the most part. We were all very moved by the experience.
One thing to note for parents is that the language in the musical is stronger than that of the book. (For instance, there were two instances of the F word.)

"I tried to read the book as a middle schooler but just could not get into it so I did not know the storyline or what to expect at all. The pace of the play was good and it crescendos nicely.
