"The Mitzi Neuman theatre is a small intimate theatre where one is so close to the stage one feels a part of the show. In fact the actors all interact with the audience! All of the actors took their characters to heart, adlibbing, delivering lines that make you laugh til you cry and cry til you laugh! Whoopi Goldberg is a great comedian and a great comedic writer. The monologues will long be remembered as both extremely hilarious as well as quite poignant! Go see this, you will long recall just how hard you laughed!"

Men go learn something
"It was a peak in to the life of what black women go through. You will learn something in a very unique way. Lirlean was a surprise as that was my wife’s mother’s name who passed away when she was 9 years old. She has never known anyone else named Lirlean. "

What a Tribute to the Past and the Present!
"This show was fantastic! That Whoopie Goldberg wrote these monologues 40+ years ago and they were still so incredibly relevant today was a tribute to her and her genius. The actors who put their own imprimatur on each monologue brought a new presence to the stage. It was glorious!"

Incredible
"The actors were funny, engaging and in parts played off the response from the audience. Beautifully done and the last monologue had me full on ugly crying! Incredible and still very relevant after all these years. The ladies were beautiful and I can’t say enough about how enjoyable it was to watch. Travelled from San Diego to NYC with the weekend centered around seeing this show. It did not disappoint! "

Funny and thought provoking
"This particular venue was great as well, small and intimate. No bad seat choices! Live audience feedback at a play is rare but it works here; with funny results. The actors so good at what they’re doing didn’t miss a beat, Not all of it was funny though which is why I wouldn’t recommend children. Definitely mature subject matter for grown folks. "

Whoopi never disappoints!
"The Whoopi Monologues was an unforgettable experience. The actors delivered magnificent performances, breathing vibrant life into every character on that stage. I felt every emotion, every pause, every shift in tone that Whoopi wove into her writing. The cast didn’t just perform the monologues — they embodied them. Their delivery pulled me in from the very first moment and held me all the way through. It was powerful, heartfelt, and beautifully executed."

About
The Whoopi Monologues
In 1984, up-and-coming monologist Whoopi Goldberg premiered her one-woman show on Broadway, torching the rulebook of traditional solo performance in one of the most electrifying debuts of the era. Now, the trailblazing work returns—but for a new generation. Emmy® Award-winning producer, actor and filmmaker Kerry Washington (American Son, Scandal), and Tony® Award winner Kara Young (Purpose, Purlie Victorious) lead a remarkable ensemble of 5 women in bringing Goldberg’s unforgettable characters back to the stage, in this new production directed by Tony® Award nominee Whitney White. Funny, vivid, and deeply human, these nuanced portraits feel as fresh and irresistible today as they were over 40 years ago.
