Due to a continued demand for tickets, the world premiere engagement of Naked Angels’ Next Fall has announced a final extension. Written by the company's artistic director Geoffrey Nauffts and directed by Sheryl Kaller, Next Fall opened to critical acclaim at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre on June 3. The production, which has since sold out through its expected July 11 closing date, will now continue performances through August 8.
The cast features Patrick Breen (Big River, Celebration/The Room, Fuddy Mears), Maddie Corman (films such as Sunshine Cleaning, My New Gun, Swingers), Sean Dugan (Corpus Christi, BFF, Nerds), Patrick Heusinger (Fiddler on the Roof, TV’s Gossip Girl), Connie Ray (Smoke on the Mountain, TV’s The Torkelsons) and Cotter Smith (An American Daughter, Burn This, The Dying Gaul).
Described as a witty and provocative urban romance, Next Fall chronicles the five-year relationship of Adam and Luke as they grapple with their respective demons. The play places the current Prop 8 controversy in a human context by examining what it means to “believe” in this day and age, and what it might cost us not to.The creative team for Next Fall includes Wilson Chin (scenic design), Jessica Wegener (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design) and Bart Fasbender (sound design).
