Former East Enders star and winner of BBC's Just the Two of Us Hannah Waterman will take the lead in the West End's Caldendar Girls, starring as Cora/Miss July beginning December 1. The production, directed by Hamish McColl, is currently running at the Noel Coward Theatre. Waterman is replacing departing star Julie Goodyear.
Waterman joins Kelly Brook (Celia/Miss September), Janie Dee (Annie/Miss February), Helen Lederer (Marie, leader of the Yorkshire branch of the WI), Rosalind Knight (Jessie/Miss January), Debbie Chazen (Ruth/Miss November), Arabella Weir (Chris/Miss October), Jan Leeming (Lady Cravenshire) and Carl Prekopp (Lawrence the Photographer).
Waterman's TV and film credits include EastEnders, Doctors, Holby City and The Bill. On stage she has been seen in The Vagina Monologues, Soap and Round and Round the Garden. She will play the role through January 9, when Calendar Girls finishes its scheduled West End run, and then she will be a part of the scheduled national tour.
Calendar Girls is based on the true story of a group of middle-aged women who posed naked for a calendar to raise money for charity.
