The latest in a series of “Putting It All Together” workshops from Broadway Classroom will be held on March 13, taught by Broadway pros Melissa Rae Mahon (Chicago, The Producers) and Sean McKnight (Curtains). This innovative three-and-a-half-hour workshop includes audition techniques, musical theater song and movement and a Q&A with Broadway professionals, as well as lunch at Planet Hollywood and a ticket to see the Tony-winning hit musical Chicago.
The all-inclusive workshop is $165 per person, and applications (available at broadwayclassroom.com) are due February 10. Participants will learn a musical selection and choreography from Chicago; participate in a “mock” audition vocal callback in which they will receive supportive, constructive criticism; and will have an opportunity to ask the performers about auditioning in NYC, their path to Broadway and what it’s like to be in a hit Broadway show.
“Putting It All Together” is a new program that allows promising young artists the unique opportunity to study with current Broadway performers. The working theater professionals challenge participants to surpass the level at which they are currently performing by developing their skill set. In addition, each participant will receive feedback on their presentation and learn the art putting it all together.
