Tallulah Makes a Broadway Comeback as Valerie Harper Opens in Looped

Matthew Lombardo’s new play Looped brings the deliciously bawdy Tallulah Bankhead back to life. The show, starring Valerie Harper (in a character far from the lovably spunky Rhoda Morgenstern from The Mary Tyler Moore Show for which she is famous), Brian Hutchison and Michael Mulheren, opened at the Lyceum Theatre on March 14. After the opening night performance, the stars of the show, director Rob Ruggiero, the playwright and a bevy of famous well-wishers headed to landmark restaurant Sardi’s to toast the opening.
