Thanks to the Columbus Day holiday weekend, many shows saw a substantial bump from the previous week, with seven shows grossing more than $1 million. Among them: this year's Tony winning Best Musical, Memphis, which (as the show nears its one year anniversary) crossed the million dollar mark for the first time ever, taking in $1,002,902 and just missing the frontrunners' list. This week also marked the start of previews for three highly anticipated shows: the first Broadway mounting of Driving Miss Daisy, the star-studded musical Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and The Scottsboro Boys, the final collaboration between Broadway legends John Kander and Fred Ebb.
