A Picture Perfect Opening Night for Donna Murphy & Co.

It’s a special night when a brand new musical bows on Broadway, and the mood was appropriately bright when Roundabout Theatre Company's original offering The People in the Picture gave its opening night performance at Studio 54 on April 28. Two-time Tony winner Donna Murphy, leading a cast of seasoned Broadway vets, stars as Bubbie, a grandmother in 1970s New York City who was a darling of the Yiddish theater circuit in Poland before the Second World War. After the lights came up on this time-traveling memory musical, Murphy and her co-stars headed to the Marriott Marquis’ Westside Ballroom to celebrate their Rialto arrival.
