After appearing in the pilot episode of the new CBS medical drama A Gifted Man, Tony nominee Pablo Schreiber has been upgraded to a regular contract role, according to Deadline.com. Schreiber will play Anton, a shaman and New Age spiritual healer to Michael Holt (Wilson) in the series, which is set to premiere in the fall in a Friday night timeslot.
As previously reported, Wilson will play a surgeon who begins communicating with the spirit of his ex-wife (two-time Tony winner Jennifer Ehle) after her death. To watch a trailer for series pilot, wich was directed by Jonathan Demme, click here.
Schreiber, a Tony nominee for Awake and Sing!, most recently appeared on the New York stage in Gruesome Playground Injuries. He starred in the Broadway revival of Desire Under the Elms and has appeared off-Broadway in Reasons to be Pretty, Dying City and Mr. Marmalade. A vet of the recent boxing-centered series Lights Out, Schreiber is currently filming a five-episode arc on Weeds.
