Squigs Pens a Whimsical Portrait of Aaron Carter & Company in The Fantasticks

Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson recently basked in the off-Broadway love at the Snapple Theatre Center and created a sketch to capture the mystical mood of The Fantasticks. The world’s longest running musical stars pop singer Aaron Carter as Matt, a lovestruck boy who falls for the lovely Luisa (Juliette Trafton). Squigs details the love affair, and the eccentric cast of characters that interfere, including El Gallo (Ed Watts), Hucklebee (Dan Sharkey), Mortimer (Michael Nostrand), Bellomy (Bill Batemen), Henry (MacIntyre Dixon) and the Mute (Matt Leisy). About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet.
