Tony nominee Laura Osnes' previously announced album, Dream a Little Dream—Live at the Café Carlyle, will be released by Broadway Records on September 18. The album was recorded during Osnes' recent two-week engagement at the Café Carlyle. During the run Osnes was joined by special guests like her Bonnie & Clyde co-star Jeremy Jordan, Pipe Dream co-star Tom Wopat and Grease co-star Max Crumm, all of whom will appear on the album.
Osnes’ Café Carlyle selections were culled from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, as well as from the worlds of jazz and folk. Osnes, who has been seen on Broadway in Grease, South Pacific, Anything Goes and Bonnie & Clyde, was accompanied by a quartet led by her musical director Fred Lassen on piano. Osnes will return to Broadway in 2013 as the title role in Cinderella.
Joe Langworth directed Osnes’ show at the Caryle. The album is produced by Fred Lassen and Aaron Ankrum and executive produced by Van Dean and Kenny Howard. Click below for a peek at Osnes on stage at the Carlyle, then pick up the album that captured the concert live!
