MTV’s Awkward has added Broadway alum Nolan Funk to the cast of its upcoming third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Funk, who also recently made his Glee debut as the villainous new lead Warbler, will play Collin James, a prep school transfer student who arrives at Palos Hills oozing with confidence.
Awkward, which follows a girl who suddenly finds popularity in high school after an accident is mistaken for a suicide attempt, was renewed by MTV in July, although a return date for the series has not been announced.
Funk made his Broadway debut in 2009 as the title role in the first revival of Bye Bye Birdie, opposite John Stamos and Gina Gershon.
