At age 20, pop star Demi Lovato is already a successful singer-songwriter, actress, judge on the hit TV competition series The X Factor and the ex-girlfriend of a Jonas Brother. So what’s next? It could be Broadway, according to a Buzzfeed.com interview with Lovato. The singer, who released her most recent Billboard-topping album, Demi, in May 2013, fielded questions from fans via Twitter, including a query about a possible future on Broadway.
Becky Cofta, a fan, asked Lovato: “Demi, have you ever considered doing Broadway? You’d kill it as Mimi in Rent. #seriously.” Lovato didn’t reveal any dream roles, but she definitely sounds open to the idea of starring in a musical. “I have never considered doing Broadway ‘cause I have so many other dreams that I’m so passionate about,” Lovato responded. “BUT I have a feeling one day I’ll end up doing it because I say that it’s not my passion. I’ll be like, ‘No, I’ll never do it,’ and then I’ll go do it.”
After making her television debut in the children’s series Barney & Friends, Lovato starred in the hit Disney film Camp Rock. She starred in her own Disney TV series Sonny with a Chance from 2009 to 2011. In addition to Demi, her albums include Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again and Unbroken. Lovato also appears in Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
