Oscar nominated for their roles in the 1970 movie Love Story, Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal are reuniting on stage! The pair will star in an upcoming national tour of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters. Following a run on Broadway, the tour will launch this summer, visiting Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, Dallas, Baltimore and more. Further details will be announced later.
MacGraw’s additional screen credits include Goodbye Columbus, The Getaway, Convoy, Players, Just Tell Me What You Want, The Winds of War and Dynasty. O’Neal has also appeared on screen in The Big Bounce, The Games, What’s Up Doc, The Thief Who Came To Dinner, Paper Moon, Barry Lyndon; Oliver Story, The Driver, The Main Event, Small Sacrifices Good Sports, Chances Are, Faithful and Malibu’s Most Wanted. He can currently be seen on FOX’s crime drama Bones and will soon feature in Knight of Cups.
Directed by Gregory Mosher, Love Letters is the story of Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (O’Neal) and Melissa Gardner (MacGraw), two young people from similar backgrounds who take very different paths in life. Despite leading lives which should not intersect, they can’t let go of each other throughout their 50 year friendship, and marriages and families with other people.
