A Number centers on Bernard Sarsgaard, a man who comes to tell his father some shocking news. The play premiered at the Royal Court in 2002 and was rumored for a Broadway transfer. However a production on the Great White Way never materialized and the NYTW mounting, to take place in November, will mark A Number's New York debut. James MacDonald will direct.
Using elements often outside the focus of mainstream theater blues, flamenco and spoken-word poetry, Eyewitness Blues tells the story of a hard-luck horn player named Junior. The piece will premiere in February.
NYTW still has 2004-2005 season slots open. Under consideration to fill the voids are a world premiere dance piece by Martha Clarke whose Vienna: Lusthaus revisited ran at NYTW called The Pirandello Project and The Seven, a new show by Will Power Flow to be directed by Jo Bonney.
