The Broadway-bound musical Why Do Fools Fall in Love?, based on the 1998 film of the same name, will premiere at California's Pasadena Playhouse in the fall. The show, directed and choreographed by Wayne Cilento, is scheduled to run from October 8 through November 14.
Based on a true story, Why Do Fools Fall in Love? centers on doo-wop legend Frankie Lymon and his three wives, all of whom claimed his estate after his death. The film was written by Tina Andrews; the musical will feature a book by Andrews and music and lyrics by Andrews and Stanley Bennett Clay.

Cilento is best known for being a choreographer. His work on Wicked recently earned him a Tony nomination for Best Choreography, and he previously won the award for The Who's Tommy. Cilento's only Broadway direction credit was the short-lived musical revue Dream, which he also choreographed.
