Robert Evan will soon be playing sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello, D.D.S and various other roles in the Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. Original star Douglas Sills will appear in the musical through June 13; understudy Darren Ritchie who is one of the leading men of the upcoming Dracula, The Musical is set to play the roles from June 15 through June 27 and Evan will step in on June 29.
Evan recently appeared as The Dancin' Kid in the off-Broadway musical Johnny Guitar. He has been featured on Broadway in Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde and Dance of the Vampires. In addition to Johnny Guitar, Evan appeared off-Broadway in The Prince and the Pauper. His national tour credits include Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, Hello, Dolly! and By George!.
Little Shop of Horrors is undergoing three major cast changes in the month of June. In addition to Sills, the revival is losing its original Seymour and Audrey. Tony nominee Hunter Foster will depart after this Sunday's performance with Joey Fatone set to play the down-on-his-luck flower shop assistant beginning June 24 understudy Jonathan Rayson will go on from June 8 through June 23. Kerry Butler is scheduled to play her final performance on June 20. No new leading lady has been named.
Little Shop of Horrors is expected to continue to star Rob Bartlett, Michael-Leon Wooley, Trisha Jeffrey, Carla J. Hargrove and DeQuina Moore.
