Pippin, which will play from January 25 to February 6, has musical and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. It centers on the young prince Pippin who longed to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment--and went on a quest to find it. He sought it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great. Nothing seemed to satisfy Pippin until, in the end, he found the secrets to life in the simple joys of home and family. Gordon Hunt will direct and Dan Mojica will choreograph the Reprise! staging.
Applause is the Betty Comden, Adolph Green, Charles Strouse and Lee Adams adaptation of the classic film, All About Eve. Applause tells the cautionary tale of Margo Channing, an aging Broadway star, and Eve Harrington, the young innocent she takes under her wing. However, there is more to Eve than meets the eye as she slowly ingratiates herself into Margo's world and then systematically attempts to take over her career, her lover and her life. Directed by David Lee, it is scheduled to run from May 18 through May 30.
