Barbara Cook's B'way Adds Two Weeks of Perfs

Lincoln Center just can't seem to let go of Barbara Cook's Broadway. The show, which ran at LCT's Vivian Beaumont Theater in the spring, is currently playing at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater through June 26. After this stint is done, the show will take a two-week hiatus and then Cook will be back for performances from July 12 through July 24.

In the concert, Cook takes the audience on a musical tour of the Golden Years of Broadway. For two decades, from 1951 to 1971, Barbara Cook was a leading star of the Broadway musical theater, creating roles in such classics as Candide, The Music Man and She Loves Me!. In this show, she will perform her favorite songs from, and reminisce about, that legendary period. The singer is accompanied by musical director and arranger Wally Harper on piano and Jon Burr on bass in Barbara Cook's Broadway.

Barbara Cook's Broadway received stellar notices when it opened at Broadway's Beaumont Theater. In his Broadway.com Review of the show, Ken Mandelbaum wrote: "Backed by her indispensable musical director Wally Harper at the piano and Richard Sarpola on bass, Cook's ability to communicate through her songs remains astonishing.
