Hinton Battle Withdraws from Dracula Tuner

Hinton Battle has left the company of the upcoming Dracula, The Musical during rehearsals by mutual agreement between the actor and creative team. It will be announced shortly who will replace Battle in the role of Van Helsing. The tuner begins previews at the Belasco Theatre on July 19.
Battle is a three-time Tony Award-winning performer, having won awards for his performances in The Tap Dance Kid, Sophisticated Ladies and Miss Saigon. His other Broadway credits include Chicago, The Wiz, Dreamgirls and Dancin'.

Dracula features music by Frank Wildhorn and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. The show, directed by Des McAnuff, is scheduled to officially open on Broadway on August 16.
