Henderson to Play Van Helsing in Dracula

As Ken Mandelbaum reported earlier today, Stephen McKinley Henderson has taken over for the departed Hinton Battle as Van Helsing in Dracula, The Musical, which is currently in rehearsals for a July 19 start date at the Belasco Theatre.
Henderson most recently appeared on the Great White Way in Drowning Crow. He has also appeared on Broadway in the August Wilson plays King Hedley II and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and off-Broadway in Wilson's Jitney. He was a member of the 2003 Acting Company for Sundance Theater Lab and can be seen in Jim McKay's HBO film Everyday People.

Dracula features music by Frank Wildhorn and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. The show, directed by Des McAnuff, is scheduled to officially open on August 16.
