Kathleen Chalfant to Star in MTC's Four by Tenn

Kathleen Chalfant, who recently appeared in Michael Kahn's production of Five by Tenn at the Kennedy Center, will star in the director's staging of Four by Tenn at the Manhattan Theatre Club in the fall. Previews will begin on Stage II on October 19 in preparation for a November 11 opening.
Chalfant was nominated for a 1993 Tony Award for her featured performance in Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. Other Broadway credits include M. Butterfly, Angels in America: Perestroika and Racing Demon. She received great critical acclaim and the Drama Desk, Obie, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance in the off-Broadway play Wit. Her other off-Broadway credits include Nine Armenians, Twelve Dreams, Henry V, True History and Real Adventures, Iphigenia and Other Daughters, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, the Encores! mounting of Bloomer Girl, Far Away, Talking Heads, Savannah Bay and The Last Letter. Chalfant is the recipient of an Obie Award for Sustained Excellence of Performance.

At the Kennedy Center, Chalfant appeared in two of the five one-acts, "Escape" and "I Can't Imagine Tomorrow." Both will be part of Four by Tenn at MTC.
