Broadway Grosses: Raisin's Week in the Sun

A Raisin in the Sun, starring Sean Combs, Sanaa Lathan, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad, could not extend beyond its limited engagement because of the actors' busy schedules. Thus, everyone had to pack into the Royale Theatre before July 11. In its last week of performances, the revival was again over 100% full, ending up with a capacity figure of 100.37% for the week. The show out-grossed 14 currently running musicals and made $645,088 almost $400,00 more than the next highest-grossing straight play.
