Linzi Hateley, Jenny Galloway, Julia Sutton, Kevin Williams and Gerard Carey will join Laura Michelle Kelly, Gavin Lee, David Haig and Rosemary Ashe in the upcoming West End musical Mary Poppins.
Hateley, who will play Winifred Banks, who recently appeared in Chicago in the West End, is best known for originating the title role in the musical version of Carrie. Galloway's credits include Mamma Mia! and Les Miserables. She will play Mrs. Brill. Sutton's work in West End musicals includes performances in The Witches of Eastwick and Martin Guerre. She will play Bird Woman. Williams will play the role of Park Keeper. He has worked both on the stage and screen. Carey's stage credits include The Wizard of Oz, High Society, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rags and Pal Joey. He is set to portray Robertson Ay.
Completing the cast of Mary Poppins will be Sarah Bayliss, Ian Burford, Ashley Day, Jye Frasca, Lewis Greenslade, Howard Jones, Sarah Keeton, Melanie La Barrie, Claire Machin, Matthew Malthouse, Stephen McGlynn, Tamara McKoy Patterson, Tim Morgan, Stuart Neal, Zak Nemorin, Terel Nugent, Lisa O'Hare, Pippa Raine, Louisa Shaw, Savannah Stevenson, Nathan Taylor, Philip Michael Thomas, Poppy Tierney, Agnes Vandrepote, Alan Vicary, Emma Woods and Andrew Wright.
Mary Poppins, directed by Richard Eyre and Matthew Bourne and choreographed by Bourne, will begin previews at the Prince Edward Theatre on December 6 and officially open there on December 15. Before its West End berth, the musical will try out at the Hippodrome in Bristol beginning on September 15.
