The RSC to Play in the West End for 22 Weeks

The Royal Shakespeare Company will take up a 22-week residency at the West End's Albery Theater in November, according to Variety.
One of the world's most famous theater ensembles, the Royal Shakespeare Company focuses on works by Shakespeare, other renaissance dramatists and some select contemporary writers. The RSC's nature allows audiences to follow the company's actors in a number of repertoire productions. The company is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace.

The season at the Albery will officially begin on November 18 when Hamlet, starring Toby Stephens, opens. That tragedy will be followed up by productions of Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Macbeth and Hecuba with Vanessa Redgrave which is then expected at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. While RSC is known for presenting shows in repertory, these productions will all be given their own straight runs at the Albery.
