Marsha Norman's 'night, Mother, starring Brenda Blethyn and Edie Falco, has found its home at the Royale Theatre. Performances of the drama will begin there on October 22.
A two-character play, 'night, Mother focuses on what happens when a daughter calmly tells her mother she intends to commit suicide. The play, starring Anne Pitoniak and Kathy Bates, first opened on Broadway on March 31, 1983. That production lasted 388 performances at the John Golden Theatre and was nominated for four Tony Awards. A 1986 film version of the show starred Anne Bancroft and Sissy Spacek.
This production, directed by Michael Mayer, is scheduled to officially open on November 14.
