Broadway.com is pleased to announce a new partnership with amNewYork, New York's first free daily paper. As of August 16, Broadway.com will contribute weekly content to amNewYork, offering the Friday theater section the following: a timely review of a new Broadway or off-Broadway show, a Q&A of a star or up-and-coming performer in a current Broadway show, a snapshot by Broadway.com photographer Bruce Glikas and current theatrical listings.
"We're thrilled to expand our readership with this new partnership," Broadway.com Editor-in-Chief Paul Wontorek said. "Placement in one of New York's well-read dailies offers us exposure to casual theatergoers who may have missed our popular features online."
Broadway.com, a subsidiary of Hollywood Media Corp, is the most widely read theatrical website on the Internet. It is a one-stop destination for theater information, features and tickets.
Launched in October 2003, amNewYork is a commuter daily that is distributed to more than 250,000 New Yorkers at key transportation hubs and highly populated areas. It has quickly become a must-read for time-poor, cash-rich young professionals--a demographic that is less likely to read traditional newspapers.
The first issue of the partnership, which hit the streets today, features critic Eric Grode's review of the new Broadway musical Dracula, an interview with Wicked's new star Jennifer Laura Thompson, a Broadway.com Snapshot of Fiddler on the Roof's leading man Alfred Molina posing with his brand-new Sardi's caricature and current listings.
