Two new cast members have been added to the upcoming Atlantic Theater Company world premiere of Woody Allen's A Second Hand Memory. Elizabeth Marvel is replacing previously announced star Martha Plimpton in the show. Plimpton is now busy as a guest star and writer of the WB series 7th Heaven. Beth Fowler has also joined the company, becoming the final cast member to be announced, according to a production spokesperson.
Marvel is currently appearing in the New York Theater Workshop production of Hedda Gabler. She has appeared on Broadway in An American Daughter and Taking Sides. Her off-Broadway credits include Play Yourself, Lydie Breeze, A Streetcar Named Desire, Shopping and Fucking, Mushugah, Therese Raquin, Misalliance, Arts & Leisure, Troilus and Cressida, King Lear and Silence, Cunning, Exile. Marvel was also a regular on the series The District.
Fowler recently appeared as Marion Woolnough in The Boy From Oz, a show that earned the actress her second Tony nomination. She previously was honored with a Tony nomination for her work in the Sweeney Todd revival. She also appeared on the Great White Way in Beauty and the Beast, Bells Are Ringing, Take Me Along, Teddy & Alice, Baby, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, A Little Night Music, Gantry and Peter Pan.
No plot details about A Second Hand Memory have been released. In addition to Marvel and Fowler, the cast includes Kate Blumberg, Dominic Chianese, Nicky Katt, Erica Leerhsen and Michael McKean. The show is scheduled to begin performances at the Atlantic on November 3.
