Mason was seen on Broadway last season in the musical Jackie Mason's Laughing Room Only, a short-lived critical disaster. He has however found more success on the Great White Way with his comedy shows. Mason has had seven of his one-man shows produced on Broadway: A Teaspoon Every Four Hours, Jackie Mason's The World According to Me! which had two Gotham engagements and earned Mason a Special Tony Award, Jackie Mason's Brand New, Jackie Mason's Politically Incorrect, Love Thy Neighbor, Much Ado About Everything and Prune Danish. Recently he has been touring all across the country with Freshly Squeezed.
The Helen Hayes is currently home to Golda's Balcony. Producers of that show have not announced a closing date, however Tony-nominated star Tovah Feldshuh is scheduled to leave the one-woman piece on January 2 with no replacement named at this time. The intimate Broadway house is in high demand--as we previously reported, Sarah Jones' Bridge & Tunnel was also aiming for a spring bow at the theater. Now it seems that solo success will have to find a new home.
