Joshua Jackson will make his professional stage debut starring opposite Patrick Stewart in David Mamet's A Life In The Theatre. The production will begin performances at the West End's Apollo Theatre on January 27, according to The Daily Mail.
An actor since childhood, Jackson is best known for playing Pacey Witter on the hit series Dawson's Creek. His film credits include all three Mighty Ducks movies, Apt Pupil, Urban Legend, Cruel Intentions, The Skulls, Gossip and The Safety of Objects. He has reported not appeared in a stage production since he was eight and played the title character in a mounting of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
Stewart, who is best known for playing Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek: The Next Generation series and films, is a respected stage veteran. He has appeared on Broadway in A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Christmas Carol, The Tempest, The Ride Down Mt. Morgan and The Caretaker. He last appeared on the West End stage in The Master Builder in the summer of 2003.
A Life In The Theatre is a two-hander that peeks into the backstage life of a seasoned veteran actor Stewart and an up-and-comer Jackson working at a regional theater.
