It seems every classic rock band wants to make a musical. Now, Earth, Wind & Fire, whose founder Maurice White is teaming with director/choreographer Maurice Hines to construct a musical featuring the group's catalog of works, according to Variety.
The show is called Hott Feett and will be written by theatrical newcomer Heru Ptah best known for writing the book A Hip-Hop Story. Songs from the Earth, Wind & Fire repertory as well as tunes from White's solo career will be featured in the tuner. Look for "Shining Star," "September," "Boogie Wonderland," "That's the Way of the World" and "After the Love Has Gone" to be among those hits included.
The team has been working on Hott Feett for about a year. The goal is to have a regional premiere of the show in mid-2005 and a Broadway opening in early 2006.
