Tracy Shayne will return to the role of Roxie Hart on Broadway beginning on December 13. She will take over the role from current Chicago star Charlotte d'Amboise.
Shayne served as a Roxie Hart standby and has previously played the part for short engagements. She also starred in a national tour of the revival. She has appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and A Chorus Line. Her other theatrical credits include West Side Story and Missing Footage.
The Broadway production of Chicago currently stars Terra C. MacLeod as Velma Kelly, d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Wayne Brady as Billy Flynn, P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart and Anne L. Nathan as Matron Mama Morton. As we previously reported, Brady will play his last performance on December 4 with understudies going on until Tom Wopat starts as Billy Flynn on December 7.
