British TV Star Michael French to Join the West End's Chicago

British television star Michael French is set to replace current star John Barrowman in the West End production of Chicago on December 13. That same day Josefina Gabrielle will return to the role of Roxie Hart in place of Jennifer Ellison.

French is best known for playing David Wicks on EastEnders and Dr. Tom Gilder on Born and Bred. His West End credits include Art and Les Misérables.

Gabrielle previously played Roxie in May 2000 and March 2001. She is best known for her Olivier Award-nominated performance in Oklahoma!, which she also starred in on Broadway. Her other West End credits include Carousel, Fame, The Goodbye Girl and The Witches of Eastwick.

The West End production of Chicago also stars Anna-Jane Casey as Velma Kelly, Paul Baker as Amos Hart and Sharon D. Clarke as Mama Morton.
