In this autobiographical play, Alison MCCormick and Liza Le Beauf are navigating the channels of motherhood as they take a revealing and sometimes comedic look at the balancing act of promise and compromise. Both women test the vision of who they think they are, who they wish to be and ultimately, who they become as individuals, as mothers, as professionals and as members of their families.
Directed by Carolyn Cantor, Eve-olution opened off-Broadway on October 20. In his Broadway.com Review of the production, Ron Lasko wrote: "Eve-olution is ultimately an engaging evening of theater. Chalk it up to a stunning production helmed by Carolyn Cantor. It would be easy for this material to come off as boring, pretentious or even whiny, but Cantor makes it all feel comfortably matter-of-fact. She directs the play almost like a tennis match, with one scene leading to the next, going back and forth effortlessly. She also manages to keep the play visually engaging--no small feat for a play completely without dialogue."
