Little Women centers on the March sisters, coming of age in Civil War-era New England. Emma Reeves has adapted the book for the stage, incorporating some scenarios from the Little Women sequel Good Wives in addition to presenting the original story.
This production of Little Women has been around for some time. It played numerous small productions before moving to the Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadler's Wells, where it ran for the past two seasons. Directed by Andrew Loudon, it received mixed reviews when it opened at the Duchess Theatre on October 13.
Man and Boy has been playing at various venues in the U.K. The show, set in the 1930s, follows powerful financier Gregor Antonescu Suchet as he visits his estranged son, Basil, at his Greenwich Village apartment in an attempt to extricate himself from the most catastrophic disaster of his career. After newspaper headlines report that the FBI is looking for Gregor, one by one his wife and business associates desert him. Only his son refuses to leave. Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken, will feature Ben Silverstone, Colin Stinton, Fritha Goodey, Will Huggins, Jennifer Jellicorse and David Yelland.
