Russell's musical theater credits include Les Miserables, Follies, Martin Guerre, Into the Woods at the Donmar and High Society. She has done a lot of work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where her credits include Misha's Party, Anthony and Cleopatra, Wildest Dreams and As You Like It. Other notable credits include Three Sisters at the Royal Court and A Midsummer Night's Dream at Regents Park. On the small screen, Russell has been featured in the series On the Up, Picking up the Pieces and Born and Bred.
Guys and Dolls centers on zoot-suited gamblers, dashing con men and the beautiful show girls who love 'em. McGregor is playing the male lead, who believes he can win any bet, but gets more than he bargained for when he does. The musical features a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. This mounting of the musical will be directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford.
This production of Guys and Dolls will begin previews at London's Piccadilly Theatre on May 19.
