"One of the actors hates planes and is taking a rowboat," Richenthal joked to Broadway.com when asked why the production had taken so long to transfer. "It's really been a matter of coordinating Brian and Robert's schedules. There are a lot of pieces to put into place. We are bringing all the designers over, so that is another one. You have to have the right theater. There is a lot to coordinate."
This Death of a Salesman first opened at the Goodman Theatre and then transferred to Broadway for a limited engagement. It earned rave reviews and won Tony Awards for Best Revival, Best Actor for Dennehy, Best Featured Actress for Elizabeth Franz and Best Direction for Falls.
Only four of the Broadway cast members will be opening with the show at the Lyric. They are Dennehy, Howard Witt who received a Tony nomination for his featured work, Steve Pickering and Allen Hamilton. The rest of the cast will be composed of U.K.-based actors. Among the West End regulars that will be featured are Olivier winner Clare Higgins, Douglas Henshall, Mark Bazely and Abigail McKern.
