Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Looks to Record Women, Boyz and Scoundrels

Sh-K-Boom Records and new imprint Ghostlight Records have a busy spring ahead of them. The five year old independent Broadway label will record the original cast recording of Little Women on February 28, with recording sessions for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and off-Broadway's Altar Boyz expected to follow in March.

Sh-K-Boom was founded in 2000 by president Kurt Deutsch and wife Sherie Rene Scott, one of the stars of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The label has recorded two solo offerings from Adam Pascal Model Prisoner, Civilian as well as Alice Ripley's Everything's Fine, Scott's Men I've Had and Great Joy, the Christmas album from the Broadway Inspirational Voices which was recently nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award. In addition, Sh-K-Boom released original cast recordings for the Broadway musical Amour as well as off-Broadway's A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, Bare, Debbie Does Dallas and The Last Five Years. Upcoming Sh-K-Boom releases include Billy Porter's At the Corner of Broadway and Soul and the long-awaited studio recording of Paul Scott Goodman's Bright Lights, Big City.

Sh-K-Boom launched Ghostlight Records in November 2004 with an ear for more classic musical theater sounds with cast recordings of the Encores! production of The New Moon, the Irish Rep's Finian's Rainbow and In Your Dreams by Christine Ebersole with Billy Stritch. In addition to Little Women, Ghoslight is set to release the all-star recording of the Actors' Fund of America benefit concert of Hair.

Little Women is expected in stores in early April.
