Broadway Grosses: Cold Weather, Hot Box Office

Broadway had a rare winter boom last week. Five shows 700 Sundays, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, The Lion King and Wicked filled their theaters to capacity or over. Eight additional shows Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Movin' Out, Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers and Twelve Angry Men had a capacity figure of over 90%. Those are considerable figures in the cold month of February.
