Peet previously appeared on the New York stage in Whale Music for the Rattlestick Theater Company and Awake and Sing! for Jewish Repertory Theatre. Her other theatrical credits include Winter Lies, 27 Sketches: Fear and Misery in the Third Reich and The Country Club. She is also expected to headline the upcoming Broadway revival of Barefoot in the Park.
Although she already had a dozen film credits and a role on the TV's Central Park West to her credit, Peet gained wider visibility for her starring role as Jacqueline 'Jack' Barrett in the television series Jack & Jill, which premiered in 1999. Since then she has focused on building her movie career. Her subsequent film credits include Isn't She Great, The Whole Nine Yards, Whipped, Saving Silverman, Changing Lanes, Igby Goes Down, Identity, Something's Gotta Give and The Whole Ten Yards. Peet is also featured in the upcoming Woody Allen feature, Melinda and Melinda, scheduled for limited U.S. release on March 18, 2005.
Set in small-town America, This Is How It Goes centers on an interracial love triangle between two men, one white and one black and a white woman.
The play, directed by George C. Wolfe, officially opens off-Broadway on March 27.
