Redgrave made her professional debut in a 1962 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Royal Court Theatre. She later made her West End debut at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in N.C. Hunter's Turnip Tree and her Broadway debut in Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy seen as part of an evening entitled Black Comedy/White Lies at the Barrymore Theatre. She has received Tony nominations for her work in 1976's Mrs. Warren's Profession and her 1993 solo show Shakespeare For My Father. Other credits on the New York stage include Saint Joan, Aren't We All, Sweet Sue, Love Letters, A Little Hotel on the Side, The Master Builder, Moon Over Buffalo and Talking Heads. She has recently appeared in Noises Off in London and in the musical Company at the Kennedy Center. Redgrave, acclaimed for her screen work as well as her stage performances, has also received an Emmy nomination for her starring role in the comedy series House Calls and Oscar nominations for her work in Gods and Monsters and Georgy Girl.
This revival will officially open on June 16, making it the first production of the 2005-2006 Tony season. It is a limited engagement scheduled to run through August 7.
