The demolition of the John Houseman Theatre will not mark the end of Lazer Vaudeville. Broadway.com has learned the entertainment piece, closing at the Houseman on May 14, is set to begin performances at the Lambs Theatre on June 9.
Juggling, lasers, magic, classic screwball comedy and technology take center stage in Lazer Vaudeville. The show stars bicycle hoop-roller and rope-spinner Carter Brown, international juggling champion Cindy Marvell, and acrobatic box juggler Nicholas Flair. Brown directs.
Lazer Vaudeville began performances off-Broadway on February 16 and opened March 9. In his Broadway.com Review of the production, William Stevenson wrote: "While the juggling is always entertaining, the vaudevillian-style clowning around is less successful. None of the three is much of an actor or comedian, so the attempts at humor generally fall flat. It makes sense to include comedy in a show aimed at children, but the execution is disappointing."
The Lambs' current tenant, Picon Pie, will close on June 2.
