Trained at the Young Vic Youth Theatre, Fiennes has a long history on the stage. His theatrical credits include The Woman in Black, A Month in the Country, West Side Story, The Threepenny Opera, Le Grand Meaulines, Jude the Obscure, Les enfants du Pardis, A View from the Bridge, Troilus and Cressida, As You Like It and Love's Labour's Lost. His is probably best known for playing the title character in the Oscar-winning film Shakespeare in Love. In addition to that movie, his big screen credits include Stealing Beauty, Elizabeth, Forever Mine, Rancid Aluminum, Enemy at the Gates and Killing Me Softly, Luther, The Merchant of Venice and The Great Raid.
