This is the second time Nixon has been attached to a staging of Talley's Folly that was called off. She was originally supposed to headline the play off-Broadway as part of the Signature Theatre's 2002-2003 Lanford Wilson season but withdrew from the production because she was to give birth a few weeks before performances were scheduled to begin. The mounting was later canceled.
The play, which takes place in 1944 in a small town in Missouri, centers on outsider Matt Friedman and his relationship with the reluctant Sally Talley. Doug Hughes was attached to direct.
