The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced today the Nominating Committee for the 2005-2006 Broadway season. Incoming committee members are retired director of the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts Betty Corwin, musical director Rob Fisher, scenic designer Andrew Jackness, retired general manager Robert Kamlot, New Dramatists Artistic Director Todd London, actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, playwright Lynn Nottage, actor Sarah Jessica Parker, retired Senior-Vice President of the William Morris Agency Gilbert Parker, playwright/screenwriter Jonathan Reynolds and retired Judge of the New York State Court of Claims Franklin Weissberg. Each new nominator will serve three-year terms on the committee.
The new committee members join Theatre Development Fund Executive Director Victoria Bailey, lyricist Susan Birkenhead, actor Stephen Bogardus, scenic designer Edward Burbridge, Theatre Communications Group Executive Director Ben Cameron, musical theater writer Kristen Childs, Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts Executive Director Jacqueline Z. Davis, choreographer Mercedes Ellington, composer Nancy Ford, casting director Geoffrey Johnson, Lincoln Center Producer of Contemporary Programming Jon Nakagawa, New York Times staff writer Enid Nemy, former general manager Peter Neufeld, composer/lyricist Marc Shaiman, Time Magazine writer/editor William Tynan and retired WNET executive Jac Venza.
Members of the Nominating Committee attend all Broadway productions and determine the Tony Award nominations for that season.
