Dukakis appeared on Broadway in 2000 with the one-woman play, Rose, which transferred from the Royal National Theatre in London. Her performance in the show won her an Outer Critics Circle Award. Dukakis received Obie Awards for her work in Bertolt Brecht's A Man's Man and Christopher Durang's The Marriage of Bette and Boo at the Public Theater. Other notable Gotham appearances include the Public Theater's productions of Curse of the Starving Class, Titus Andronicus and Electra. She last appeared on the New York stage in February 2004 in the Aquila Theatre Company production of Agamemnon at the John Jay Theatre.
Dukakis won an Academy Award in 1987 as Best Supporting Actress for her work in Moonstruck. Other film credits include Steel Magnolias, Look Who's Talking, Mr. Holland's Opus, Mighty Aphrodite, I Love Trouble and Picture Perfect. Her autobiography Ask Me Again Tomorrow was released in paperback in March of last year.
